The Number One Enemy of Proper Estate Planning

Procrastination!

I could stop here but I can't. I've made too many emergency trips to the hospital (one time the anesthesiologist and I arrived at the same time at the bedside, prior to open heart surgery!) and made too many last minute trips to assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. For you married couples, you decided to get married together, where you were going to live together, where the kids went to school, etc, so why not do your estate planning together as well?

I implore you to please do your planning together so you don't have to leave your spouse or your family to clean up your mess behind you. Preparing an estate plan is too important for you to procrastinate. Failure to plan is planning to fail. I would rather have a plan in place and not need it for years, rather than need it and not have anything.
